Payer & provider enrollment for physical therapy practices

Payer enrollment services. Know where each application stands.

William Avery helps independent PT practices prepare payer applications, respond to missing-information requests, and track enrollment by therapist, billing entity, and service location.

Starting a practice, adding a physical therapist, or opening a location? We confirm the requested networks and application scope before work begins. Payers control network participation, approval, and effective dates.

Free 15-minute fit call. Bring your state, provider count, and target payers. No patient records or personal ID numbers needed.

Begin with the practice roster

One practice can have several enrollment requests.

We map the therapists, entities, locations, and requested payer networks together. An existing group agreement or a therapist’s previous participation does not establish that a new practice relationship is active.

Keep the milestones separate

Credentialing, contracting, and activation mean different things.

Credentialing

The payer reviews the practitioner’s qualifications and supporting records. A complete CAQH profile supplies information; it does not approve network participation.

Contracting

The participation agreement addresses the applicable network relationship and terms. Credentialing approval alone does not establish that contracting is complete.

Activation & effective date

Confirm the payer’s written participation status, applicable providers and locations, and effective date. A submission receipt does not establish activation.

Application preparation & follow-up

Move each request to its next documented step.

  1. Step 01

    Review the requested network.

Check the payer’s participation route and panel information for your specialty and area. Record closed-panel notices or unanswered eligibility questions before assuming participation is available.

  2. Step 02

    Prepare and reconcile the information.

Organize required licenses, liability coverage, practice details, and payer forms. Check consistency across records and obtain the provider’s required review, authorization, signatures, or attestations.

  3. Step 03

    Submit and respond.

Retain the submission reference and supporting records. Track missing-information requests, assigned owners, responses, and follow-up dates. An application still under review remains pending in the tracker.

  4. Step 04

    Confirm the handoff.

Collect the payer’s written decision and effective-date information. Resolve unclear therapist, entity, or location associations before handing participation details and remaining questions to your practice’s billing contact.

A record your practice can use

Receive status, evidence, and clear next actions.

We agree on the reporting format and update cadence during scoping. The enrollment record connects each request to the information your team needs to act.

Confirm what the engagement covers

Scope the requests before assigning the work.

Bring your therapist roster, locations, payer list, and existing application history. We confirm which requests we can support and who supplies records or approves agreements. Pricing is discussed after the work is understood. Ongoing monitoring, recredentialing, demographic updates, or additional payers require a separate agreed scope.

Common questions

Know what happens next.

How do medical credentialing services relate to enrollment?

The terms often appear together, but medical credentialing is the review of professional qualifications. Provider enrollment services coordinate payer-specific applications and participation records. For PT practices, we track the required credentialing, contracting, and activation steps separately.

Can you help us get credentialed with insurance companies?

We support application preparation and follow-up for independent physical therapy practices. We confirm your specific payers, provider types, and locations before accepting the work. The payer decides panel availability, participation, and contract terms; approval is not guaranteed.

Does an NPI or completed CAQH profile mean we are enrolled?

No. An NPI identifies a provider; CAQH holds information used in credentialing. Neither alone confirms payer enrollment. Check the required steps, participating networks, billing entity, locations, and written effective-date information for the actual practice relationship.

How long does payer enrollment take?

Timing depends on the payer, requested network, application completeness, and outstanding reviews or responses. We discuss the known steps and follow-up plan for your requests. We do not promise approval by a launch date or a fixed turnaround.

A clear starting point

Bring the payer list. Let’s define the next steps.

Tell us about your PT practice, therapist roster, locations, and open applications. We’ll discuss the enrollment work you need and whether it fits our service. Leave patient information and account credentials out of the booking.
